The brand new Tecnam trainers of Patria Pilot Training are all now at Malmi Airport. The first one of the nine ordered aircraft arrived already in April, and four more landed at their new home on 12 May. The last four aircraft arrived on 24 May.

The Italian Tecnam P2002 JF De Luxe is a two-seat trainer of modern technology and design. It is powered by a four-cylinder, four-stroke Rotax 912 S2 engine. The Tecnam has a low fuel consumption and a low noise level.

The three Cirrus SR22 GS G3 instrument trainers - obtained by Patria Pilot Training a year ago - and the new Tecnam basic trainers will have an audible effect on the soundscape of Malmi Airport. The old FFA AS-202 Bravos, which now give way to the new trainers, were in the louder end of the noise spectrum at Malmi Airport.
