FAI's Air Sport medal awarded to FoMA secretary Erkki Mikola

The World Air Sports Federation (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, FAI) has awarded its Air Sport Medal to the secretary of the Friends of Malmi Airport Society, Mr. Erkki Mikola, describing him as "a tireless mouthpiece of the Society and proponent of the Airport".

The awards were presented on 19 March 2005 at the annual meeting of the Finnish Aeronautical Association in the auditorium of Finnish Aviation Museum. Other recipients of the FAI Air Sport Medal were Jukka Jusslin, Veikko Korhonen and Ritva Sandin. In addition, an FAI Group Honorary Diploma was awarded to the Turku-based parachute company Parasale Ltd, and an FAI Paul Tissandier Diploma to Esko Lähteenmäki.
