The only airworthy Douglas DC-3 (OH-LCH) has returned to Helsinki from its winter storage in Vaasa with a new engine in its right wing. After arriving at Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport in the weekend, the big migratory bird once again landed at Malmi, its home airfield from where it served Aero Ltd (the predecessor of Finnair) in the 1940's.
Built in California in 1942, this veteran of the skies will spend the summer flying season in a worthy environment at historic Malmi Airport for the viewing pleasure of the public.
