An-2 Lennuklubi Helsinki has brought a new attraction to Malmi Airport in May 2004: a huge Antonov An-2 biplane (ES-CAG).
Designed in the late 1940's, the An-2 seats 14 people and is the biggest single-engine biplane in the world. 24 square meters (256 sq ft) of wing, a 1000-horsepower radial engine and a mighty four-bladed variable-pitch propeller lift this colossus off the runway in less than 200 m (650 ft) distance.
In summer 2004, ES-CAG will fly local sightseeing tours and day trips to Tallinn, Estonia.
