12 September 2004

The 1000 Jump Day on Saturday 11 September 2004, organized by the Parachuting Club of Finland, was a record-setting event worthy of its name. Around 100 parachutists gathered to Malmi Airport from various clubs and teams succeeded in setting a new Finnish record by making more than 1000 jumps from one aircraft during one day. The previous record was more than doubled.

The beautiful weather was perfect for the event. Parachutists of all ages from their 20's to their 60's participated in the event, and there was exceptionally much to see for all the friends of parachuting sports.
