The statutory autumn meeting of Friends of Malmi Airport Society was held on 16 November. The events of the year 2007 and the activities of the Society were recapitulated, and the economic plan and activities for the next year were presented.

FoMA announced its plan to publish a 300-page illustrated chronicle of Malmi Airport by May 2008 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Airport. The Society regretted to announce that it does not have the required resources to organize an Open Doors Day to boost the celebrations in May. Experienced assistance is, however, offered to any organization willing to rise to the task.

A new Board for the next season was also elected at the meeting. Chairman Tero Auranen no longer stood for election. Mr. Raine Haikarainen was elected Chairman, and Mr. Ari Katajamäki was elected to the Board as a new member. The retiring members of the Board were re-elected.

The Friends of Malmi Airport Certificate of Honor No. 4 was awarded to Klaus Bremer for his long-term active efforts to further the Society's cause.

The Friends of Malmi Airport Society is a non-profit citizens' association founded in 2002 to support and develop the operational preconditions of the historic Airport. The Society has about 1000 members and its petition to save Malmi Airport has at the moment been signed by nearly 50.000 people.
